The San Diego Padres may finally get one of their top offensive players to join the team in 2012. Outfielder and projected cleanup hitter Carlos Quentin is finally close to coming off the disabled list and joining the team. Quentin had knee surgery on March 19 and was expected to be out four to six weeks. After a longer than expected recovery, Quentin could return to the team as early as Friday …

The San Diego Padres simply can't catch a break this season. The team is in last place and has the worst record in the National League. With just a 9-20 record, the team could use some good news. Unfortunately for Padre fans, more bad news is on the way. Starting pitcher Cory Luebke went on the disabled list with an elbow injury and may be hurt more than originally thought.

Without a doubt, the San Diego Padres hit rock bottom in April by posting a dismal 7-17 record. Decent pitching was continually backed by a light-hitting lineup that struggled to even get on base during those 24 contests. Losses kept on coming at Petco Park and everywhere else, too. This team could not even manage to win three straight contests during the month and only managed back-to-back wins …
