The NL West-leading San Diego Padres lost their 10th straight game, with Melvin Mora hitting a go-ahead single that sent the Colorado Rockies to a 4-2 win Sunday. The Padres began the day with a two-game edge over San Francisco, which played a night game at Dodger Stadium

NL batting leader Carlos Gonzalez had three hits and two RBIs to lead the Colorado Rockies to a 6-2 win Saturday over the reeling NL West-leading San Diego Padres, whose nine-game losing streak is their longest since 2003. The Padres hadn’t lost more than three in a row before this streak, during which they’ve gone from having the best record in the NL to having the third-best.

Miguel Montero drove in the go-ahead runs with a ground-rule double, Gerardo Parra made two critical defensive plays and hit a two-run single, and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat San Diego 7-4 Tuesday night to hand the NL West-leading Padres their sixth straight loss. The Padres led 3-2 to start the fifth inning.

SAN DIEGO — Shane Victorino had two of Philadelphia’s three hits, including a go-ahead triple off Jon Garland in the seventh inning that helped the Phillies to their second straight win against the NL West-leading San Diego Padres, 3-1 on Saturday.
